Day #1 in California!

DAY #1 photos!
This is the front of Loris birth center.  It is so nice!

Loris daughter was with us as we shopped and here they are in front of the birth center (here daughter just got the mail for her)  It was fun to have her along for the day!

Were driving here, you can see the back ground and the mountains in the background..

Some of the down town stores...

I like this store.  Lots of organic things, and more of a mom and pop like store.  Not like the big super chains of department stores that has put out some many businesses across the country!   We went into a meat market (reminded me of the one we use to shop at back home when i was growing up) and another small store, full of fresh fruits and vegetables.  Great!

just a interesting building...

another view of the shoping area we were in...
Now this next photo, let me explain.  Both Lori and I do not shop very much at walmart, but occ we do go to these kind of shopping centers, walmart, k-mart, meijers, target...all are putting the small mom and pop stores out of business.  I know that.  Why I took this photo was to show you back home how these department chains cater so much to the area.  Back home where we are more rural, farm and probably not up as much on stuff that is trendy, our walmart looks like more rural store...to cater to us.  See the front of this one?  Makes it look more like a 'fancy' store!

Ok, love this!  We needed eggs.  And the farm fresh eggs that Loris gets are from a drive thur!  Can you believe it?!  A drive thru farm fresh egg place!
Love it!!

I wonder if the Amish back home would do this -it would catch on for the tourists!  Or a drive thru Amish bakery!!

Well now were at Loris house.  Here are some photos of her yard.  She cooked a wonderful supper of chicken breasts that was seasoned so great!  Mash potatoes and gravy...ummm comfort food!  And carrots, and then peppers, onions and zucchini stir fry that was so good!   The bell peppers were so naturally sweet!

View from Loris house...out to the city and the mountains in the back ground..

well -more later!
