Get together with family and friends- Feast of Trumpets!

Yom Turuah-Feasts of Trumpets-The day of the Blast and Shout! This sabbath began at sundown on the 19th and ended at sundown on the 20th.
This is an exciting day for me...the day I want to spend with our family and our church family! I want to spend time relaxing and enjoying the day that the LORD has made and enjoy HIS day! Spending it with family and friends is a great way to spend it!
Each year we have our children home for a meal during the fall season. Usually we have it during the Labor day weekend, but this year we decided to have it during the Feast of Trumpets. Fall is such a beautiful time of year, not too cold and not too hot!

Here is our son Nathan, with his youngest son-helping him swing in the new swing that grandpa finished this last week! The kids all said-'we did not have this when we were little,' Oh well I say!

Here is Tom Boomershine helping his grand daughter drive a little car! The kids just love these toys! We enjoy having them here for the children that visit!

We began our meal about noon. On Friday I had prepared a number of dishes so they were ready to go with needing very little work. After all, I am to rest today! They would just need a little heating up...but the meat we did cook up fresh.

We had patio Beans (Shandra's way to cook them!) We also had a very spicy dish, that had sirloin steak cup up into bite size pieces, and from my garden I had onions and sweet and hot spicy peppers...you can the peppers below.
Zucchini, tomatoes, and garlic all from our garden was also ingredients. Forzen peas were added. Spices added are: fenugreek seeds, curry, coriander (from my garden), cumin, mustard seeds, chili powder. Two different pastes were added, about 3 tea spoons to 3 tablespoons of each. The first one: salt, coriander, paprika, lemon juice, cumin seeds, chili powder, garlic powder, ground ginger, ground turmeric, and wine finegar. The second one: red chilies, curry leaves, mustard seeds, chili powder, cinnamon sticks, cloves, cumin, black peppercorns, and fenugreek seeds.

We also had potato salad -made keeslar style, which means adding dill pickles. The eggs were from our chickens.

We also had fresh beef and goat meat that Scott had ground up fresh and made into patties on Friday. Fresh tomato's and onions from the garden for the fixins for the burgers. Cheese and pickles from the store, and some home made pickles from the shelves from last fall-meaning aged pickles, also were for the fixins. Later we remembered the buns and never did remember in time to bring out the catsup, mustard and mayo! Opps! they remained low carb burgers!

We had kosher beef hotdogs, all grilled -burgers and hotdogs freshly grilled.

We had an organic spring salad mix from Anastasia that she added some tomato's from my garden to. A really fresh salad!

Special seasoned potaot's from the Boomershine's kitchen helped to complete the meal! They also shared a watermelon from their garden, and boy was that good! Very sweet, juicy and organic! My youngest grand child enjoyed eating this, and also enjoyed squeezing the juice out of it and onto grandma!

We had asked Joshia Boomershine to bring over some of his swords that he makes, He is a swordsmith. It was interesting to hear what he does, and see some of his work. I would enjoy going to watch him work in his shop. As an artist myself, I enjoy anyones fine art work!

Starting on the left-Nathan, our second child and second son, in the middle is Anastasia our third child along with her husband Stephen, and to the right is Nalani, our youngest daughter, and forth child. She is holding our youngest grand child Jeriamiah.

Here is Josiah showing us some of his work.

After our meal, we went for a walk to the back land. Our little cabin in the woods needs a lot of work, after a year of having squirrels and chipmunks living in it, they have caused some major damage. We will be working on repairs later this winter. Maybe we will finally get it back to its cute little cabin appearance!

We missed our oldest child -jason and his famile and our youngest child-Dustin and his new bride being with us today. The family was not complete, but we still had a good day.
